Age calculator
Enter a date of birth to get an exact age in years, months and days, with the days left until the next birthday.
Your result appears here as you type.
How exact age is worked out
Full years are counted first, then full months, then the days left over. Months have different lengths, so the days are counted back from the current month, the way age is normally written on a form.
When you need an exact age
- Forms for a CNIC, passport, job or school admission.
- Checking the age limit for a government job or exam.
- Patient records and children’s growth checks, where months matter.
- Working out a retirement date.
Born on 29 February?
In a year without 29 February, this calculator counts your next birthday as 1 March.

How do I calculate my age from my date of birth?
Subtract your birth year from this year. If your birthday has not come yet this year, take away one. The calculator does this for you and adds the months and days.
How many days old am I?
Enter your date of birth, and the calculator shows your age in total days and weeks.
Is this accurate for a job application?
Yes, for today’s date. If a form asks for your age on a closing date, check that date against your date of birth as the employer requires.
