Queue Management System for Clinics in Pakistan

Give every patient a token, show the queue on a screen, and let reception stop answering “how long will it be?”. SehatDoc runs the queue in software, so there is no separate token machine or display system to buy.

What this replaces

  • Patients crowd the counter

When nobody can see the order, everyone comes to reception to ask. The desk spends the session answering the same question instead of registering and billing patients.
  • Slips and diaries lose the order

A paper token says who came first, but not who has been seen, who stepped out or which doctor they are waiting for. Arguments at the door start there.
  • Walk-ins and bookings clash

Pakistani clinics take both. With two lists, a booked patient waits behind walk-ins or the other way round, and staff settle it by hand each time.

What the software actually does

  • Tokens at reception

Reception registers the patient and issues a token in the same step. Returning patients are found from their record, so nothing is typed twice.
  • A live queue screen

Open the clinic’s public queue page on a TV or any screen with a browser. Patients see the queue move without coming to the counter.
  • One queue per doctor

Where several doctors sit in one clinic, each has their own queue, and reception works them all from one place.
  • Walk-ins and bookings in one list

Patients who walk in and patients who booked join the same ordered queue, so nobody keeps two lists.
  • QR code self-booking

On the Care and Elite plans, patients scan a QR code at the clinic and book themselves in, which takes routine traffic off the desk.
  • The queue connects to the visit

The token leads straight to the patient’s record, prescription and bill. It is part of the clinic system, not a display on its own.

How it works in practice

  1. Patient arrives

Reception registers them and issues a token, or a booked patient joins the queue.
  2. The queue shows on screen

Patients watch the live queue on the clinic’s display.
  3. The doctor calls the next patient

Their history opens with them, and the queue moves on.
  4. Bill and close

The visit goes to billing, and the day’s numbers add up on their own.

Questions about queue management system

Still unsure? Send us the question and a person — not a bot — will answer it.

What is a queue management system?

It is software that gives each patient a place in line, shows the order to staff and patients, and moves the line as they are seen. In a clinic it usually means tokens, a display screen and a separate queue for each doctor.

Do I need to buy a token machine or display system?

No. The queue runs in SehatDoc. Any TV or screen with a web browser can show the public queue page, and reception issues tokens from the computer they already use.

Does it work for walk-in patients?

Yes. Walk-ins are the normal case. They get a token on arrival and join the same queue as patients who booked.

Can a hospital OPD with several doctors use it?

Yes. Each doctor has their own queue, and reception works from one screen. See the OPD software and hospital management pages for the rest of the workflow.

What does it cost?

The queue is part of SehatDoc, not a separate product. Plans start at PKR 4,000 a month with no setup fee. QR code self-booking is on Care and Elite.

Try it with next week’s patients

Plans start at PKR 4,000 a month, billed in rupees, with setup and staff training included. Bring over next week’s patients and see whether the evening session runs any easier.

Setup help and staff training are included on every plan.
