Water intake calculator
Estimate how much to drink each day from your weight, with extra for Pakistan’s hot weather and for exercise.
Your result appears here as you type.
How it works
A common guide for adults is 30 to 35 ml for each kg of body weight, counting all drinks. This calculator uses that range and adds half a litre for hot weather or exercise. Your needs can be higher in summer heat or if you sweat a lot.
Signs you need more
- Dark yellow urine. Pale straw colour is a good sign.
- Feeling thirsty, dizzy or tired.
- Dry mouth and headache in the heat.
When to be careful
People with kidney failure or heart failure may be told to limit fluids, so follow your doctor’s advice. Drinking very large amounts quickly can also be harmful.

Many adults do well on about 2 to 3 litres of fluid a day. At 70 kg, the guide gives about 2.1 to 2.5 litres.
Do tea and lassi count?
Yes, drinks count towards your fluid, though water is the best everyday choice.
How can I tell if I am drinking enough?
Pale yellow urine and rarely feeling thirsty are good signs.
